Job description

As a Scientist within Scinus, you will take part in drafting, executing and reporting experiments
in support of our application development work. You will bolster the scientific basis of experiments and help develop new analytical approaches together with our process engineers.
In addition, you will use your project management skills to initiate, execute and manage both
internal and external projects. Scinus aims to remain at the forefront of developments in cell
culture automation and we therefore participate in several (inter)national projects, including EUfunded grants (HorizonEurope, MSCA-DN, EuroStars) and grants by the national Dutch government (e.g. TKI, NWO-OTP). You will source new collaborative projects, ensure the project progresses according to established deliverables, and provide necessary updates to granting bodies. For internal projects, including customer projects, you define project goals and align all stakeholders. The position requires taking ownership and ensuring a successful conclusion by adopting a hands-on approach..

    • Coordinate and execute experimental work, supporting application development in
      • collaboration with process engineers

        • Write project/grant proposals for both funding and commercial opportunities
        • Lead project planning and execution after project acquisition
        • Ensure timely reporting on both technical and financial progress
        • Represent Scinus and its interests at project meetings
        • Coordinate and administrate internal technical projects where required
        • Highlight operations and business risks, develop mitigation plans, manage risks and

        troubleshoot issues

        • The position requires occasional travel and work on weekends
        • Skills and experience:

          • Relevant educational background on at least master level (life sciences, cell biology or

          related field), a PhD is preferred

          • Excellent organization, project, and time management skills.
          • The ideal candidate will already have some experience coordinating the work of

          international research initiatives involving several partners, demonstrating the ability to

          structure collaborative workflows.

          • Strategic thinking within a highly scientific environment
          • Good interpersonal skills are required, projects require managing multiple stakeholders

          at different levels

          • Excellent command of both written and spoken English is a must, with Dutch language

          abilities being highly advantageous

          • A hands-on mentality with an ability to work with tight deadlines
          • A problem-solver with great attention to detail
          • Financial acumen
